Linnette Builds is where I document what happens when more than 20 years of healthcare, Medicaid, compliance, eligibility, long-term care, and operations experience meets SQL, data analytics, Python, databases, and business intelligence.
I didn’t start learning technology because I wanted to erase my previous career and become someone entirely different.
I started because I kept recognizing the same problems I had spent years solving manually.
Information scattered across spreadsheets. Cases that needed better tracking. Trends buried inside operational data. Processes that depended too heavily on someone remembering what happened last week. Reports that showed numbers without always answering the question behind them.
The deeper I got into SQL and data, the more familiar everything felt.
I had been asking database questions long before I knew how to write a query.
From Domain Knowledge to Technical Skills
My background taught me how to understand the meaning behind healthcare data.
Now I’m learning how to structure it, query it, analyze it, automate it, and visualize it.
My growing technical toolkit includes:

- Power BI & dashboard development
- Excel & data transformation
- Git & GitHub
- Database design
- Workflow automation
- AI-assisted tools and applications
But the technology itself isn’t the destination.
The goal is to build better systems for real problems.
What I’m Building
My projects are rooted in problems I actually understand, particularly healthcare operations, Medicaid, long-term care, compliance, workflow management, and analytics.
That means building things like healthcare analytics dashboards, Medicaid Pending tracking and risk analysis tools, structured databases, workflow systems, and practical applications that turn messy information into something people can actually use.
Some projects begin as spreadsheets.
Some begin as a question.
Some begin because I find myself thinking:
There has to be a better way to do this.
Those are usually the interesting ones.
Why I Build in Public
Linnette Builds is also a record of the learning process.
Not just polished final projects.
I want to document the queries that finally work, the dashboards that need rebuilding, the concepts that suddenly click, the mistakes, the experiments, and the moment when several disconnected technologies finally become one working system.
Because learning SQL or Python in isolation is useful.
Learning how to use them to solve a problem you genuinely understand is something else entirely.
That’s what I’m building here.
